New hope for advancing neuropalliative care – The International Neuropalliative Care Society (INPCS)

The need to integrate palliative care within neurological services for people with advanced neurological disorders led to the recently launched International Neuropalliative Care Society (INPCS).

The INPCS is a world first initiative that aims to improve the wellbeing of people affected by neurodegenerative disorders. Activities and plans of INPCS include building an interdisciplinary professional network, supporting research, developing educational materials and opportunities, creating guidelines for clinical practice, and advocacy. These activities, in turn, should promote the acceptance of palliative care and advance its integration into standard neurological practice.

The Centre for Palliative Care is proud to be linked to INPCS via the appointment of the Centre’s Director Professor Peter Hudson to the INPCS Board of Directors.
