This advanced practice Masterclass will provide an opportunity to learn evidence-based communication skills and frameworks that you can use in your clinical practice. When applied effectively they will assist you to respond confidently and efficiently to emotions and behaviours that often challenge and derail therapeutic interactions.
This training has a strong experiential component, which includes you practicing the use of communications skills and frameworks during ‘clinical interactions’ with a simulated patient. Experienced facilitators will provide ‘real time’ feedback enabling a safe environment for you to ‘wind back’ and try again or try something new.

NOTE: this class replaces our previous Communication Skills Masterclass, if you have already undertaken our previous class you do not need to do this masterclass.

Fiona is a palliative care educator and researcher and has lead the development of multidisciplinary clinical communications skills training programmes and associated multi-media facilitator training resources for health professional facilitators in Australia and overseas.
Karen Quinn - RN, Grad Dip Pall Care, Masters Nursing (Research), Grad Cert University Teaching
Karen has a strong interest in palliative care education and has undertaken communications skills facilitator training overseas with Jonathan Silverman under the Calgary Cambridge model and locally with Cancer Council Victoria.
Cancellations policy: Cancellations of tickets occurring less than seven (7) days prior to an event will incur a 10% administration fee. Cancellations made less than 72 hours prior to an event will forfeit full payment. Substitutes can be made at any time.
